Mirus engineers complete solution to resolve inverter driven motor issues
The launch of Mirus International’s Inversine advanced universal sinewave filter (AUSF) marks a substantial step forward in harmonic mitigation technology.

Inversine AUSF Mirus International

The Inversine AUSF provides motor protection against the degrading effects of reflected wave phenomenon that cause motor winding failure, cable insulation degradation and high electromagnetic interference (EMI/RFI).

The Inversine AUSF is engineered to transform the chopped up PWM VFD output voltage into a clean sinewave that has <3% THD(V).The AUSF is designed to work seamlessly with all makes of PWM VFD’S on applications such as:

  • Motor drives with up to 15,000 feet of motor lead lengths
  • Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP’s)with long motor cables
  • Existing motor with insufficient motor or cable insulation
  • Motor drives with multiple parallel motors
  • Motor drives requiring lower peak voltage level and dV/dt rise time ratio
  • HVAC systems requiring reduced audible motor noise
  • Motor drive applications requiring maximum safety and reliability
“The Inversine AUSF was developed with the end-user in mind to address dV/dt overvoltage issues which can cause motor and motor cable insulation breakdown and to eliminate heating in the motor caused by the highly distorted PWM voltage waveform. In addition, Mirus is developing a common-mode choke option for the Inversine to block motor bearing currents that can lead to bearing fluting. With the launch of our Inversine AUSF, Mirus International continues its dedication to engineering world class power quality improvement products for mission critical operations,” said Tony Hoevenaars, President and CEO.

In addition to providing all of the above great features the AUSF also corrects the motor Power Factor to almost unity and introduces the lowest losses of any sinewave filter since the design does not require damping resistors.
